Example 2: The Chocolate Bar

Fraction: 2 parts out of 3 total parts = 2/3 (two-thirds)

⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Unequal Parts: Remember, all parts must be the exact same size to be a fraction. If one piece is bigger, it's not a fair fraction!
  • Swapping Numbers: Don't mix up the numerator (top) and denominator (bottom). The top number is the parts you have, the bottom is the total parts.

  • Up-Down Rule: The number of parts you have goes UP on top. The total parts is DOWN below.
