How to Solve: The Step-by-Step Guide
We use long division. Remember the steps with the family: Dad, Mom, Sister, Brother, Rover.
- Dad (Divide): Ask, "How many times does the divisor go into the first digit?"
- Mom (Multiply): Multiply your answer by the divisor.
- Sister (Subtract): Subtract that number from your current digits.
- Brother (Bring down): Bring down the next digit.
- Rover (Repeat/Remainder): Repeat the steps until you have a remainder or zero.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
Forgetting to bring down all digits: It's easy to stop early! Make sure you bring down every digit until you reach the ones place.
Wrong multiplication: Double-check your multiplication in the "Mom" step. A small mistake here makes the whole problem wrong.
Misplacing the quotient digit: Write each new number in the correct place value spot in your answer.
Tips & Tricks
